COVID-19 Latest Guidelines:

  • Day 1 of Covid is the day after your symptoms began or the day after you tested positive, whichever was soonest e.g., if you began to experience symptoms on Sunday 10 July, Day 1 would be Monday 11 July.
  • On Day 5 take a lateral flow test.
  • If the test is negative, isolation will end on Day 6.
  • If the test is positive, continue to test daily.  Isolation ends the day after a negative test or day 10, whichever is soonest.

Welsh Government Guidance (updated 2 July 2022) states that if you have a positive Covid-19 test, it is important that you stay at home and avoid contact with other people.  We would, therefore, politely request that if your child develops any of the “cardinal” symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough or loss of taste or smell) they take a lateral flow test.  If they test positive, we request that they remain at home and isolate in line with the guidance above.

Full or partial school closure (short-term and/or long-term)

In the event of a school closure, staff will not be able to access the school site. Therefore, in this situation the school will:

  • Provide students in all year groups with online materials to facilitate distance learning (Google Classroom)
Please see our Distance Learning and Heath & Wellbeing pages specifically set up for pupils and parents
  • Where possible provide paper-based materials for those students who do not have access to either a mobile device and/or Internet
  • Communicate with families/students on a regular basis to provide updates on the recovery phase ie. safe return to normal school life.
