New Curriculum 2022

As you may be aware, Qualifications Wales are currently looking at redesigning GCSE qualifications in Wales. The aim of this is to ensure that the qualifications are in line with the new Curriculum for Wales which the current Year 7 pupils are following. From September 2025, when our current Year 7 pupils are beginning Year 10, qualifications in Wales could look very different.

You and your child have a chance to provide some feedback on the proposed changes to qualifications. The survey below is available until 14th December inviting you to share your views.

Curriculum for Wales Summary 2022-2023

At St Joseph’s RC High School, we are committed to ensuring all our pupils experience a curriculum which is built upon our Catholic Virtues which are the golden thread running through the Four Purposes. All members of our school community are actively involved in the creation of a curriculum which fosters self-belief and a willingness to serve in a spirit of faith, hope and love. We want our young people to strive for excellence, to inspire others, and to flourish in an ever-changing world, while keeping at the heart of all their endeavours the unchangeable values of the Gospel.
